He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

We had such a fantastic week.  What a delight it is to teach this class.  They continue to learn the rules and routines.  We are learning
when to be in the "quiet zone" and when to talk or participate in a group discussion.  I am so proud of the nice manners and kind words that are being used to encourage each other.
The children have worked well in large and small group activities.   They are participating in rotation stations during Reading. We are all  practicing self control and patience.
Ask your child about our paintings!

A few reminders:
* Please send a light sweater or jacket for your child to keep at school
(label all personal items).
*Please review the blue folder daily. Keep all papers except the ones    labeled return.  Encourage your child to "help" by being responsible for the folder.  They love being helpful and independence is encouraged.
*Send blue folders and a healthy snack daily.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Fantastic First Day!

What a fantastic first day we had!  We are meeting new friends and learning new routines. Tomorrow, we will begin our regular schedule.  We are excited about eating in the lunchroom and going to our 1st Spanish class.  For the next few days, I will be introducing Reading, Math, Handwriting, and Bible.
What a blessing it is to have each child in my class.  It is no accident that we are together for this special year.  Thank you for your prayers and support.  Contact me if you have any problems or concerns.
Please note the following:
-Your child may need to bring a sweater or light jacket to keep
at school or in his/her backpack.  At times, our room may be
  chilly.
 - Remember to write a name in all personal items.
-School begins at 8:00 a.m.  The Kindergarten doors open at
7:30 with a teacher supervising, if you need to bring your child
  earlier.
 - Send a simple, healthy snack each day.  We eat
lunch around 10:40 so a low sugar snack for the
afternoon is important.  Cold water bottles will be available.
A few ideas are: p.b crackers, cheese cubes, fresh fruit,
                              pretzels, nuts, trail mix, etc.
I look forward to seeing your child tomorrow!

Thank you,
Wendy Hallford
P.S. Ask your child about our class pet, Scruffy!!

Dear Parents,
I want to welcome you to Trinity Presbyterian School Kindergarten.   What an
honor it is to share this year with you. I hope your child has received my letter with an
invitation to visit our classroom.  I am excited that we are able to schedule this.  It
will be a fun time to meet you.  I will do an informal one on one assessment with each
child.  This will help me get to know them better both academically and socially.  The
dates for the visits are July 27th and 28th.  Please email me at
whallford@trinitywildcats.com for verification or if the time scheduled
is not convenient for your family.  I will continue to do the assessments the first few
days of school if you are unable to attend.
A FEW HELPFUL REMINDERS…
*Ice Cream Social for New Families will be Tuesday, August 2nd.  Meet us at 7:00 in Willett Hall.  I look forward to seeing you.
*Open House and PTO night will be Monday, August 8th.  We will meet in our room (red door) at 5:15.  During this time, I will share with you a little more about our classroom and you will have an opportunity to sign up for special events throughout the year.
*The first day of school is Wednesday, August 10th.  School will begin at 8:00 and dismiss at 11:30 so lunch will not be served.  However, Thursday will begin our regular full day schedule.
*School Supply Boxes will be in the Kindergarten.  You do not need to pick them up.
Please visit our classroom blog at http://www.reddoortrinity.blogspot.com.  Subscribe to the blog by typing your email address in the box on the top left of the blog so that you will receive an email notification each time the blog is updated.
